Citizenship: The definition of citizenship comes from the fourteenth amendment which states that all persons born or naturalized in the United states are Citizens of the United States. Once person has citizenship, no state can make a law that takes away privileges of a citizen of the United States.
Steps to become a US Citizen:
1.) must be at least 18 years old and fill out a form stating you would like to become a US citizen
2.) you must live in the US for at least 5 years and take classes in citizenship
3.) after 5 years, take a citizenship test
4.) interview with a immigration official (INS)
5.) take an oath of allegiance before a court
